The American neo-noir psychological thriller is written and directed by Tom Ford. The movie is based on Austin Wright’s book Tony and Susan. Susan Morrow an art gallery owner is married to Hutton Murrow who is actually her second husband. Her husband often leaves her at home to go on long trips. On one such occasion, she receives a manuscript of a book by her ex-husband Edward Sheffield that has a story of a teacher who goes on a trip with her family that turns out into a nightmare. Reading the manuscript leaves Susan disturbed as she tries to examine her pasts and confront some truths of her past.
