Summary:
Young Michael and his dog are swept away by a violent storm during a sailing trip and end up on a remote island. Thinking he’s the sole survivor, Michael discovers an enigmatic Japanese man who’s been stranded there since World War II. Though wary of each other at first, the boy and the old man gradually form an alliance. Their bond is put to the test when intruding forces arrive, threatening their precarious sanctuary.
