Mưa đỏ directed by Dang Thai Huyen, follows Cuong a gifted conservatory student who makes the life altering decision to give up an overseas scholarship in order to enlist in the army. Leaving behind music and personal ambition he is thrust into the harsh realities of military life, where he fights alongside a diverse group of squadmates Ta, Binh, Tu, Hai, and Sen each shaped by different regions, backgrounds and temperaments. Despite their differences, the group forms a deep bond forged through shared hardship discipline, and loss. As they navigate the brutality of war, the film emphasizes camaraderie, sacrifice, and the quiet longing for peace that unites them.
