The third season of this crime drama facets some attempting instances for many of the major characters: Lisbon (Robin Tunney) gets injured; Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti) almost loses her job, and Jane (Simon Baker) receives kidnapped. Jane also has another run-in with cult chief Bret Stiles (Malcolm McDowell), who gives him some information on serial killer Red John. Later, an incarcerated man displays a connection to Red John, and Jane then becomes a suspect in that man’s death, which is investigated through J.J.LaRoche (Pruitt Taylor Vince), a relentless unbiased investigator.
