City of Dreams (2023), directed by Mohit Ramchandani, follows the journey of Jesús, a young Mexican farmer with dreams of becoming a soccer player. He travels to Los Angeles under the belief that he will be training at a soccer camp. However, upon arrival, Jesús discovers the harsh reality that he has been deceived and sold into a sweatshop, forced to endure grueling 18-hour workdays. Determined to escape his oppressive situation, Jesús devises a bold plan to reclaim his freedom and pursue the dreams that brought him to the U.S. in the first place.
