Bad Cupid,” Valentine’s Day release, offers us a Cupid named Archie, played by John Rhys-Davies, who deck all in black except for red high- covers. He is fed up with mortal stupidity when it comes to love. He drinks, he uses terrible language, and he still uses arrows — real crossbow arrows that produce serious, call-an-ambulance injuries. He also uses a baseball club and a gunboat Cupid subverts the style and descends into lunacy when John Rhys-Davies appears as a cankerous, foul-mouthed Cupid who is not a lovely angel baby. The ending is a bit abrupt, with nearly no action in any respect after the final turning point.
