Barry Lyndon chronicles the adventures of an incurable trickster (Ryan O’Neal) whose opportunism takes him from an Irish ranch to the battlegrounds of the Seven Times’War and the places of excessive society. Irish mischief wins the coronary heart of a rich widow and assumes her vain hubby’s aristocratic point in 18th-century England. The royal knaveries correspond to an early theft in which two nicely mannered stealers ambush the naive Barry as he proudly trots through the timber.
