Prior to leaving on his second visit in Afghanistan, Marine Captain Sam Cahill, a pioneer, a competitor, a decent spouse, and a father, invites his spoiled sibling Tommy home from jail. He’d looted a bank. In-country, Sam’s helicopter is destroyed and all are assumed dead. Back home, while Sam dies as a detainee in a distant settlement, Tommy attempts to deal with the widow and her two youngsters. While detained, Sam encounters repulsions excruciating, so when he’s saved and gets back, he’s quiet, isolated, without influence, and he’s persuaded his significant other and sibling have rested together. Devils of war have him; what will quietness them?
