His famous father, boxing champion Apollo Creed, who died before Adonis was born, never met Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan). Boxing is in his blood, though so he searches out Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and asks his trainer to be the retired champ. In Adonis, Rocky sees something of Apollo, and decides to tutor him, even as he fights a deadlier foe than any in the arena. Adonis soon gets a title shot with Rocky’s help, but it remains to be seen if he has the true heart of a champion.
