Davis Mitchell returns to work after losing his beloved wife to a road accident. While working, he writes a letter to complain about a vending machine. In return he received a phone call from Karen, a customer service representative of the company. During the conversation Davis finds her to be a good listener and both become good friends. The friendship gives Davis a new strength to start his work and rebuild his life.
