In 1973, ten-year-old Eddie Edwards longs for Olympic greatness, rehearsing in different Olympic occasions and bombing wretchedly. His mom unequivocally upholds him, while his dad continually debilitates him. As a youthful youngster, he surrenders his fantasy about taking an interest in the Summer Games for skiing in the Winter Games. Albeit effective at the game, he is dismissed by British Olympic authorities for being tasteless. Acknowledging he could make the group as a ski jumper (a game wherein the United Kingdom had not partaken in sixty years), he evacuates to a preparation office in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. The more prepared jumpers, explicitly those in the Norwegian group, deprecate him.
