Gringa (2023), directed by E. J. Foerster and Marny Eng, follows Marge Bickford, a high school outcast grappling with the challenges of adolescence. When her mother dies unexpectedly, Marge embarks on a journey to Mexico to find her estranged father, a former athlete now coaching a women’s soccer team in a small rural town. Despite their differences, the two bond over their shared struggles and begin to rebuild their fractured relationship. Through humor, heartache, and soccer, they discover that even the most broken families can find a way to come together.
