Lady in the Lake

Set in 1960s Baltimore, Lady in the Lake follows Maddie Schwartz, an ambitious housewife turned aspiring reporter, as she becomes obsessed with investigating the murder of a young Black woman whose death has been largely ignored by the authorities. As Maddie delves deeper into the case, she uncovers layers of social injustice, racial tensions, and corruption. Her pursuit of the truth puts her at odds with the city’s power structure and forces her to confront her own personal limitations and privileges.
