Love & Friendship, about a scheming widow who tries to insinuate herself into a man’s life. It is predicated on a comparatively little- given novel named “Lady Susan”. A beautiful immature widow Lady Susan Vernon visits the estate of her in-law while staying for social chatter about her indiscretions to pass. While there, the intelligent and amusingly egotistical Lady Vernon decides to secure a husband for herself and her rather reticent son, Frederica. Enlisting the backing of her old friend Alicia, Lady Vernon attracts the simultaneous amenities of the immature, handsome Reginald DeCourcy, the rich and silly Sir James Marti, n and the divinely handsome, but wedded, Lord Manwaring, complicating matters severely.
