Summary:
In the year 1900, Lili d’Alengy, a celebrated Parisian courtesan, makes a desperate escape from the spotlight to hide her young daughter, whom society cruelly deems an “idiot.” Seeking hope, she crosses paths with Maria Montessori, an innovative educator developing a groundbreaking teaching method for children with special needs. As the two women form an unlikely alliance, Lili is forced to confront her past, while Montessori fights to prove that every child—regardless of their challenges—deserves the chance to learn and thrive.
