The biographical televised film is based on David Haig’s play by the same name. The movie is directed by Brian Kirk and features David Haig, Daniel Radcliffe, Kim Cattrall, Carey Mulligan, and Julian Wadham.
The movie is a story of a relationship between a father and a son. Rudyard Kipling the famous writer and his son John (Jack) share a loving relationship. John had very weak eyesight and because of that couldn’t did into the army. But Kipling uses his sources to get him in a place in the army and John goes to fight the first world war. He is martyred on the very first day of the war that leaves the entire family shattered.
