Plainclothes directed by Carmen Emmi follows a gifted undercover agent tasked with infiltrating LGBTQ+ spaces to lure and arrest gay men as part of a morally dubious police operation. Confident in his training and commitment to duty he initially treats his assignment as just another case. However when he becomes emotionally entangled with one of his targets the lines between performance and truth begin to dissolve. Caught between professinal loyalty and a love he cannot deny he starts to question the ethics of his work his own identity and the system that weaponizes intimacy. As surveillance tightens and stakes rise, his defiance carries dangerous consequences forcing him to choose between conformity and compassion in a world that punishes both.
