Playdate directed by Luke Greenfield follows Brian, a recently fired professional who is suddenly thrust into the unfamiliar world of stay at home parenthood. Still reeling from the loss of his job and his sense of identity he reluctantly accepts a playdate invitation from another stay at home dad who initially seems friendly and supportive. What begins as a harmless afternoon of parenting and small talk quickly veers into unpredictabiity when Brian realizes his new acquaintance is dangerously impulsive and emotionally unstable. As the situation spirals out of control Brian must navigate escalating tension social awkwardness and outright peril while trying to protect himself and his child. Blending dark humor with mounting suspense, the film explores modern masculinity, parental anxiety, and how quickly normal life can tilt into chaos.
