It is a 2023 New Zealand comedy film directed and written by Damon Fepulea’i. Its star cast is John-Paul Foliaki, Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, Hariata Moriarty, and Matt Ruglys.
When Maka and Veni cannot obtain tickets for the most important game of their lives, they decide to establish a traditional Tongan marching band to attend. No one in this motley crew understands how to march, and they practise with plastic bottles and tin cans as instruments. It’s a catastrophe, and if they don’t get their act together, they’ll shame the entire Tongan community. However, what begins as a cynical ruse to attend a rugby game evolves into a journey of self-discovery in which Maka and Veni understand the value of Tongan culture.
