Chief Raymond Gaines, a former Afghanistan helicopter pilot who now works for the Los Angeles Fire Department as a search-and-rescue pilot, is dealing with a divorce and a heartbreaking family tragedy.Ray will start on a frantic effort to rescue not only his estranged wife, Emma, but also his trapped eighteen-year-old daughter, Blake, when a tremendous earthquake devastates Hoover Dam, initiating a devastating run of quakes from L.A. to San Francisco along the whole length of the San Andreas fault.
