The film opens with a display of “ Impale,” a film grounded on the payoff in the first film. Scream is set in a movement when council scholars Maureen Evans (Jada Pinkett Smith) and Phil Stevens (Omar Epps) are butchered through Ghostface for the duration of the Impale caching. Killed in front of massive followership, the seated observers give no help, assuming Maureen’s fear and dying is a planned hype trick for the premiere. The live killing questions what exactly cult will sit thru for the sake of entertainment, bedazzling absorbing violence, each factual and fictional.
