Shaman directed by Antonio Negret follows a devoted missionary working to convert an Indigenous community living near a remote volcano in Ecuador. Confident in her faith and purpose she believes she is bringing spiritual guidance to the isolated region. However her conviction is shaken when her young son begins exhibiting terriying signs of possession by an unknown and sinister force. As the supernatural events escalate she is forced to confront the limits of her beliefs and the possibility that the ancient spiritual traditions of the local community may hold truths she never cosidered. Torn between doctrine and desperation, the missionary must question everything she once believed in to save her child from the darkness consuming him.
