When Gerda asks her husband to pose for her portrait as a young lady, at that moment Einar feels something he has been missing throughout his life. The demeanor of a lady comes so naturally to him that he couldn’t control himself from who he really is and what he is meant to be. When his wife gets to know about his reality she supports his every decision and then starts a journey that will only have a sad ending.
The movie is based on a book by David Ebershoff by the same name.
