A battle between the mob and the army, but who is on the right side? And is one there? The Departed, a story of deceit, focuses on a young policeman, Billy Costigan, who sacrifices his morality and his sanity to infiltrate an Irish-American mob and win the trust of its leader, Frank Costello. When both Billy and Costello encounter a rat in their disparate organizations, the plot thickens, and chaos ensues.
