Michael Berg a bus conductor meets Hanna Schmitz and soon they both fell in love. Their relationship was going well when suddenly Hanna leaves Michael and leaves him heartbroken. Several years later Michael is studying law at the Heidelberg University finds Hanna who is on trial for a brutal Nazi war crime.
