The British war comedy-drama film is directed by Lone Scherfig and is based on Lisa Evans’ 2009 novel ‘Their Finest Hour and a Half. The movie features Gemma Arterton, Sam Claflin, Bill Nighy, Jack Huston, Helen McCrory, Eddie Marson, Jake Lacy, Racheal Stirling, and Richard E. Grant.
In 1940 London, Cartin Cole is a film scriptwriter who is hired by the Ministry of Information to write a movie on the Dunkirk evacuation. She researches and finds the story of twin sisters Lily and Rose who participated in the Dunkirk evacuation. As she discusses the story of the movie, he male colleagues insist on making a fictional character the hero of the story. It is now a challenge for Cartin to write the movie a portray the real hero to the citizens.
