“Welcome Home” is essential for a long practice of thrill rides about villain figures who enhance pressure in a couple’s relationship, wanting to take one portion of the couple away, or just torture (and perhaps murder) the two of them. the film unfurls along genuinely unsurprising lines. The moment you see the couple sinking into that excellent house, you realize that the story needs to end there, likely with a few delayed demonstrations of horrifying brutality, since that is the manner by which these films resolve.
