“Rurouni Kenshin” is a 2012 Japanese action-adventure film Directed by Keishi Ōtomo. The movie is based on the popular manga and anime series of the same name created by Nobuhiro Watsuki.
The story is set in the Meiji era of Japan and follows a wandering swordsman named Kenshin Himura (played by Takeru Satoh), who once served as an assassin during the turbulent Bakumatsu period. Kenshin now carries a reverse-edged sword and seeks to atone for his past by protecting the innocent and upholding justice without taking lives.
Kenshin’s path crosses with a young woman named Kaoru Kamiya (played by Emi Takei), who runs a dojo and teaches swordsmanship. Together with other allies, including Sanosuke Sagara (played by Munetaka Aoki) and Megumi Takani (played by Yu Aoi), they become embroiled in a conflict with a ruthless former assassin named Makoto Shishio (played by Tatsuya Fujiwara).
