“Snowpiercer” is a 2013 science fiction thriller film directed by Bong Joon-ho, based on the French graphic novel “Le Transperceneige” by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand, and Jean-Marc Rochette. The movie is known for its unique premise, social commentary, and intense action sequences.
The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world where Earth has become a frozen wasteland due to a failed climate change experiment. The surviving remnants of humanity are aboard a massive, perpetually moving train called the Snowpiercer, which circles the globe. The train is divided into a rigid class system, with the wealthy elite living in luxury at the front and the less fortunate relegated to the squalid conditions of the tail section.
As the tail section passengers grow tired of their oppression, a revolution is sparked, led by Curtis (played by Chris Evans) and assisted by his mentor Gilliam (played by John Hurt). The revolutionaries fight their way through the various cars of the train, facing numerous obstacles and encountering different levels of society, as they make their way to the front of the train.
