Jaanu is like an immense suitcase-full of memories. A journey that begins with a class picture and finishes right where it began, with the exception of leaving two people with the closure they may not deserve but need. In the most beautiful of ways, the romance between Ram and Jaanu is understated but well described. Tenth-grader Ram finds himself unexpectedly unable to talk in the presence of his friend Jaanu, an issue which will persist for years to come. Jaanu (like her namesake) sings like a dream and is unafraid of prodding Ram to get what she wants. And much like their relationship, it’s also so frustratingly obvious why they parted ways years ago.
