In the Season three premiere, Spartacus (Liam McIntyre) sees his army grow and deal a serious blow to Rome’s combat legions, which leads Roman officials too to be looking for empire-saving funding from the aristocratic and bold Marcus Crassus (Simon Merrells). Troubles proceed to thwart Spartacus and his rebels, however, as they deal with food shortages, shelter problems, betrayals, mounting casualties, and a spy in their midst. In the end, Spartacus and his outnumbered rebel pressure prepare for what ought to be their final, pivotal struggle in opposition to the Romans.
