When Season 3 opens, Litchfield is in a slightly happier place. With Fig gone, Caputo is trying to make prison life better for the prisoners. They hire a new counselor, Birdie Rogers, who proves to be an improvement on Healy, and the prisoners are getting ready to celebrate Mother’s Day.
