During the fight at Starcourt, Eleven temporarily frees Billy from Mindflare’s control, forcing him to sacrifice himself to protect the group. As the Mindflare kills Billy, Max watches in horror. At the end of the season, she is shown mourning his death as she sits in his bedroom.
