When They See Us was inspired and told by the Central Park jogger case of 1989. The case involved Trisha Meili, a 28-year-old investment banker who was raped and assaulted by a jogger in Central Park, Manhattan. On the late night of 19 April 1989.
Written, and directed by Ava DuVernay. It stars cast Asante Blackk, Caleel Harris, Ethan Herisse.
