The Japanese animated drama is written and directed by Isao Takahata. The movie is based on Hotaru Okamoto Yuko Tone’s manga ‘Omoide Poro Poro. The movie features the voices of Miki Imai, Toshiro Yanagiba, and Yoko Honna.
Taeko Okajima is an unmarried woman who decides to take a trip outside her native Tokyo to Yamagata to visit her sister’s family. On the way, she reflects on the life she has lived and thinks about the challenges and frustrations she experienced in her life. She wonders if her younger self wanted her to live the life she is living right now.
