The Electric State directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, is a retro futuristic sci fi adventure set in the aftermath of a devastating robot uprising in an alternate version of the 1990s. The story follows Michelle, an orphaned teenager who is unexpectedly contacted by a mysteriou cartoon inspired robot with ties to her long lost younger brother. Realizing he might still be alive, she sets out on a perilous journey across the desolate and war-torn American West to find him. Along the way, she reluctantly teams up with Keat an opportunistic smuggler, and his wisecracking robotic sidekick. As this unlikely crew navigates a sprawling dystopian landscape littered with massive technological ruin and rogue machine they must learn to trust one another to survive the dangerous forces hunting them. Blending action, humor, and heart the film explores themes of connection, grief, and humanity in a fractured world.
