The Elixir directed by Kimo Stamboel, is an Indonesian horror-thriller that centers on a dysfunctional family running a renowned traditional herbal medicine, or jamu business in a remote village. Desperate to revitalize the struggling company, the patriarch attempts to innovate by creating a miraculous new recipe designed to reverse aging. However his experimental potion goes horrifyingly wrong, inadvertently triggering a deadly zombie outbreak that starts with him and quickly spreads. As the village’s peaceful atmosphere descends into chaos and blood soaked survival the deeply divided family members who previously despised each other over inheritance and power struggles are forced to unite.
