The Japanese animated historical drama film is directed by Mizuho Nishikubo. The movie features the voices of Masachika Ichimura, Yukie Nakama, Kanako Yanagihara, Yusuke Santamaria, Kōta Yokoyama, Junya Taniai, Polina Ilyushenko, Saburo Kitajima, Hiroshi Inuzuka, Kaoru Yachigusa, and Tatsuya Nakadai.
During the final weeks of the second world war in August, 1945the world sees the most devastating conflict in Japan. As a result, a tiny island of Shikotan becomes a part of Sakhalin Oblast. The lives of the people living in the region are disturbed but at the same time, new friends boom in the war-torn island.
