The Japanese science fiction film is co-written and directed by Satoshi Kon and is based on Yasutraak Tsutsui’s 1993 novel by the same name.
Dr. Atsuko Chiba is a scientist and a detective in the night under the code name of Paprika. Atsuko and her colleague make a device called DC Mini which is meant to help psychiatric patients. The device that is helpful can slowly destroy people’s minds and it gets stolen. Paprika then sat on her to find the thief and get the device back.
