Based in the time of the Cold War, Charlie Wilson a Congressman, Joanne Herring Texas socialite, and CIA agent Gust Avrakotos form a trio to fund the Afghan war. They are successful in their pursuit and manage to send money to much-needed Afghan freedom fighters.
