The earth is flat in this ancient Egyptian mythology, and the Egyptian gods dwell among humans. The gods are distinguished from humans by their greater stature, golden blood, and capacity to transform into divine forms. Bek, a young thief, and Zaya, his love, are attending Horus’ coronation.During the ritual, Osiris is assassinated by his envious brother Set, who seizes the throne and establishes a new regime under which the deceased must pay a fee in order to enter the afterlife. Horus is almost killed after losing his eyes, which are the source of his strength. Hathor, his love, begs Set to spare him, but instead he is exiled in exchange for Egypt’s surrender.
