Released in 2018, the five-part drama series is directed by Edward Berger and features Benedict Cumberbatch, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Hugo Weaving.
Patrick Melrose a wealthy English man in the five parts of the series endeavours to overcome his addictions. Although these addictions were self-imposed the history of it is traced to his childhood with his abusive father and negligent mother.
The series is based on Edward St Aubyn’s book by the same name. The book is an autobiographical document of Edward’s own experiences in a highly dysfunctional family and then losing both his parents and then eventually getting into a heroine and alcohol addiction.
