L.B. “Jeff” Jefferies is a wheelchair-bound photojournalist who is confined to the walls of his apartment after breaking his leg while photographing a racetrack crash. Jefferies spends his days as a voyeur spying on his neighbors from his back window, which overlooks a courtyard and several other apartments. Jefferies gradually grows more and more engrossed in his voyeurism, and soon enlists the help of his mother, Lisa, to share the thrill. It’s all fun and games for the two until they see what they assume to be a murder in progress, and as they continue to watch the apartment, they become increasingly persuaded.
