Buster Moon, a dapper Koala, is in charge of a once-grand theatre that has fallen on hard times. He is an eternal optimist and a scoundrel who values his theatre above all else and will go to any length to protect it. Faced with the possibility of his life’s dream collapsing, he seizes one last opportunity to return his fading jewel to its former glory by staging the world’s greatest singing competition. A rat, a fearful elephant, a pig, a gorilla, and a punk-rock porcupine are among the five contestants.
