C.C. Baxter, a faithful, resourceful, and cooperative clerk in a large Manhattan insurance company, has devised the quickest way to ascend the corporate ladder: lend his womanizing bosses the key to his convenient bachelor apartment. Indeed, Baxter’s plan is foolproof, and as the meek but ambitious employee begins to reap the benefits of his labour, he attracts the attention of the company’s philandering big boss, Jeff D.
