Michael Corleone, a decorated veteran of the Second World War and son of Vito Corleone, the Don of the Corleone crime family, is determined to live a life with his greatest love, Kay Adams, in New York City, in 1945, and stay out of the family business. But with his father’s health and status steadily declining, Michael starts to understand that certain pressures can not be avoided, and as the patriarch of the Corleone crime family, the inevitability of his destiny.
