The Lovebirds is a romantic comedy film directed by Michael Showalter in 2020, based on a script written by Aaron Abrams and Brendan Gall and a narrative written by Abrams, Gall, and Martin Gero. When a couple (Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani) unwittingly become engaged in a murder investigation, it marks a turning point in their relationship. They must figure out how they, and their love, can survive the night as their quest to clear their reputations takes them from one extreme – and comic – event to the next.
