Released in 2004 the American comedy is partially based on Mehran Karim Nasseri an Iranian refugee who lived in Terminal 1 for eighteen years at the Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.
Viktor Navorski an eastern European tourist find himself stuck at the John F Kennedy Airport because of the outbreak of the war. He cannot enter the country nor can he leave the country. Eventually, he falls for a flight attendant Amelia Warren, at the airport.
The movie was directed by Steven Spielberg and features Tom Hanks, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Stanley Tucci, Chi McBride, Diego Luna, and Zoe Saldana.
