“Ping Pong” (Japanese: “ピンポン”) is a 2002 Japanese sports drama film directed by Fumihiko Sori. The movie is based on a manga of the same name by Taiyo Matsumoto.
The story revolves around two high school friends and table tennis players, Peco (played by Yosuke Kubozuka) and Smile (played by Arata). Peco is a naturally talented player with a carefree attitude, while Smile is more reserved and introverted. As they compete in various table tennis tournaments and face challenges both on and off the table, their friendship and dedication to the sport are put to the test.
