“Marrying the Mafia” is a 2002 South Korean comedy film Directed by Jeong Yong-ki. The movie falls under the genre of a gangster comedy, known as “makjang” in Korean, which combines elements of crime, romance, and humor.
The story follows the Choi family, who are a notorious and powerful crime syndicate in South Korea. The head of the family, Jang In-tae (played by Kim Soo-ro), is a feared and respected gangster. He has three sons, each of whom has their unique personalities and roles within the family business.
One day, Dae-seo crosses paths with a feisty and outspoken woman named Jin-kyung (played by Kim Won-hee). Jin-kyung is the daughter of a police chief and is determined to expose the mafia’s activities. However, fate takes an unexpected turn when Jin-kyung and Dae-seo end up getting married in an unconventional manner.
